Seeking your support during our year-end giving campaign to raise
$5,000 for next year’s 11 to Save Grant Fund
In 2023 we embarked on a journey to explore what visually makes Florida’s historic places so unique. So, we asked you what you imagine when you think of the colors of Florida: what colors embody the essence of Florida’s heritage?
We were blown away by your responses: the white paint that helped to cool off historic buildings in South Florida’s immense summer heat, cheerful shades of pink blooming across the state from the Ringling Museum to South Beach and bold reds at the Riley House in
Tallahassee and the St. Augustine Lighthouse – your insights painted a
palette of inspiration.
So we decided to tell the story of our year in color.
With your help, 2023 has been a year of progress and unfolding potential. The green from the Colony Theater symbolizes our easement program, which tangibly safeguards historic buildings around the state.
The bright blue of the Marion Theatre marquee highlights our tremendously successful Preservation on Main Street Conference hosted in Ocala this year.
The gleaming silver atop the University of Tampa’s minarets recognizes another educational event we hosted in 2023, our wonderful Insider’s Tour: Tampa.
All of this was only made possible through your support!
We were proud to award our first funds through the 11 to Save Grant Fund this year, represented by the sun-kissed yellow patina on the hull of Noah’s Ark in Palatka.
The dark sand color of Mt. Olive AME Church in Jacksonville signifies this year’s 11 to Save, spotlighting the state’s most endangered historic resources.
Let’s not forget the delicate pink of Bok Tower, a nod to our successful advocacy work during the Florida legislative session including securing full funding for historic preservation grants for important historic places like Bok Tower in Lake Wales.
Looking ahead to 2024, we’re intensifying our efforts to bolster the 11 to Save Grant Fund to continue tangibly assisting historic places around the state.
We hope you will help us with this work by making a tax-deductible year-end gift to the Florida Trust. All funds raised during our year-end appeal will go toward our 11 to Save Grant Fund.
Our goal is to raise $5,000 through Giving Tuesday and our year-end appeal. Will you help us?
All funds received through our year end donation campaign will go towards 11 to Save Grants in 2024.
Every contribution to our year-end campaign directly supports these crucial grants. Your tax-deductible donation is more than a gift; it’s a commitment to Florida’s rich, diverse history and a tribute to the stories of its people. It is only through your support we are able to continue our mission to protect and preserve our state’s unique history, and tell the full story of the people of Florida.
Together, let’s paint a brighter future for Florida’s historic places.
Year End Donation 2023
Through your support we will capture histories and stories from diverse communities across the state. Help us continue our work of protecting Florida’s extraordinary history and heritage! All funds raised will be dedicated to our Florida’s 11 to Save Grant Fund. The Florida’s 11 to Save Grant Fund aims to make a tangible impact supporting historic sites on current or previous 11 to Save lists. Florida’s 11 to Save highlights endangered historic sites throughout Florida as nominated by the public, and is an important step in advocating for their preservation.
